Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was TV personality and ex-chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. Anne W. Burrell is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for Food Network. Food Network, as well as co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell worked in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Growing up in upstate New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking at an early age. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I was a huge Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." The Culinary Institute of the Americas was a fantastic location to learn. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy, she developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell approaches her cuisine. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to enhance the quality of life for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of childhood diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world as she frequently goes on trips across the USA in various roles such as speakers and mentors. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels very fortunate to share my passion to others.
